- Modern Warfare 4 DMZ cost is tied to owning Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, releasing October 23, 2026.
- DMZ is a core mode of MW4 alongside Campaign and Multiplayer, not a separate purchase.
- Edition choice (Standard vs Vault Edition) affects bonus items, not DMZ access itself.
- There is no in-game promo code system for DMZ rewards — ignore fake code giveaways.
- Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2.
How Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Pricing Works
Understanding the Modern Warfare 4 DMZ cost starts with one key fact: DMZ is a persistent extraction mode built directly into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. You do not buy a separate "DMZ" product. According to the official announcement, the game ships with Campaign, Multiplayer, and DMZ as its core modes, and the official release date is October 23, 2026.
That means your real cost decision is which edition of Modern Warfare 4 to buy on your platform of choice. The official DMZ Deep Dive confirms DMZ includes the Hajin Exclusion Zone, story missions, persistent gear, and weapon variants — all included with the base game.
| Cost Component | Included with Purchase? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| DMZ mode access | Yes, base game | Core mode alongside Campaign and Multiplayer |
| Hajin Exclusion Zone | Yes | Launch exclusion zone for DMZ deployments |
| Story Missions and Mission Orders | Yes | Narrative-linked DMZ progression |
| Weapon variants and persistent gear systems | Yes | Part of the DMZ progression loop |
| Vault Edition bonus items | Higher-tier edition only | Delivered via purchase entitlement |
| Cross-platform play | Platform dependent | Confirm store details at checkout |
Prices vary by region, platform, and retailer promotions. Always confirm the final price on the official PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam, or callofduty.com before purchasing — third-party key sellers carry account risks.
Edition Comparison: Standard vs Vault
Activision titles typically launch in multiple editions, and Modern Warfare 4 follows that pattern with pre-order incentives and a Vault Edition tier referenced in official material. The edition affects bonus content, early access windows, and cosmetic items — but every edition grants full DMZ access.
Standard Edition
- Full DMZ access included
- Campaign and Multiplayer
- Base pre-order incentives where offered
- Lowest entry cost
Cross-Gen / Digital
- Full DMZ access included
- Optimized for current consoles
- Platform-specific entitlements
- Good middle option
Vault Edition
- Full DMZ access included
- Vault Edition bonus items
- Premium cosmetic and content bundle
- Highest cost, best for committed players
| Edition Tier | DMZ Access | Bonus Content | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | Full | Minimal | Budget-conscious players |
| Cross-Gen / Digital | Full | Moderate pre-order items | Most console players |
| Vault Edition | Full | Extensive (operator skins, bonus items) | Dedicated DMZ and multiplayer fans |
Unverified key marketplaces and social media sellers advertising cut-price Modern Warfare 4 or "free DMZ codes" are not official channels. A code cannot bypass platform ownership requirements — the game license must come from the platform store.
Redeeming Pre-Order Bonuses: Step-by-Step
Pre-order rewards for Modern Warfare 4 — including Vault Edition items and platform incentives — are delivered through official entitlement and account-linking systems, not promotional codes. Follow these steps if eligible content does not appear:
Verify your purchase
Confirm the correct edition was purchased on the platform account you actually play on. Check the platform store's order history for the entitlement.
Link your accounts
Sign in to your official Call of Duty account and connect the platform account used for the purchase under linked accounts.
Restart and check
Fully restart the game after linking. Check the relevant inventory or bonus section — entitlements often appear after the first post-link launch.
Contact official support
If items are still missing, use Activision Support with proof of purchase. Do not use third-party "fix" services.
Never share passwords, one-time codes, or recovery codes with anyone claiming to sell or unlock DMZ content. There is no legitimate universal DMZ code list or generator.
Ongoing Costs: What to Expect After Launch
Beyond the initial Modern Warfare 4 DMZ cost, plan for the ongoing model common to modern Call of Duty titles:
| Potential Ongoing Cost | Required for DMZ? | Typical Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Season passes / battle passes | No | Cosmetics and seasonal progression tracks |
| In-game store bundles | No | Operator skins, weapon blueprints |
| Map or DMZ zone expansions | Watch official news | Season content may rotate zones like Hajin |
| Subscription services (e.g., online play) | Platform dependent | Console online multiplayer requirements |
DMZ's progression — weapon variants, persistent gear, story missions — is built around playing and extracting, not purchasing power. Cash, contraband, and mission rewards are earned during deployments in the Hajin Exclusion Zone.
Seasonal content can shift what is included versus what is sold separately. Track updates on the official Modern Warfare 4 blog for post-launch DMZ announcements.
